Therapy is the work of inner growth. Together we will find a meaningful approach to aid in your progress; an approach that will bring you toward deeper meaning in your life and greater clarity in the relationships you value.

MY APPROACH

My style is largely grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which focuses on the thoughts that impact behaviors. We’ll work to bring these thoughts to light where we can mindfully determine if they are serving you well. Through this empowering awareness you can recognize choices and remove barriers that keep you feeling stuck. It’s the work of purpose, knowing and appreciating yourself more, and building a meaningful life.

I believe that growth happens through authentic connection, intentional listening and honest reflection. Our work together will create space for profound insights, vulnerable moments, raw emotions, and most likely - occasional moments of full hearty laughter.

I like to be flexible with what works for each individual.  I provide traditional office sessions in person, or remote sessions via phone/google meet,  but I’m also open to taking our session outside on a walk or hike, or meeting up at the climbing gym. I realize different approaches are suited to different individuals and I strive to meet clients where they are at.

TYPES OF THERAPY

INDIVIDUAL THERAPY

The purpose of individual therapy is to increase awareness and understanding of our thoughts and behavior patterns; we do not only aim to alleviate symptoms but to understand the root. Through this process you will begin to cultivate desired changes and/or meaning in your life and relationships.

We’ll meet weekly, and I’ll spend a lot of time really getting to know who you are and how you see the world with no judgment and no criticism. Therapy is a place I’ll invite you to show up just as you are. From there, we’ll start to navigate some of the challenges that come with the current life circumstances you are facing.

FAMILY THERAPY

Family therapy is for people looking to improve their relationship with one another, with only one requirement… all parties must have some investment to the betterment of the relationship. In Family Therapy we can deal with parent-child relationship issues, families facing major life transitions, or mental health conditions among family members.

In family therapy we work to resolve conflicts, improve communications, problem solve together and create peace in your home. Families often spend a lot of time together and this can make navigating these issues feel a bit more nuanced and unique. We will work on your family value system with the aim  to foster a space where each family member can be heard and show  up authentically.

GROUP THERAPY

Group therapy is for people looking to connect with others on similar issues. It is a space for you to give and receive support from others. In group therapy we can focus on psycho-education, processing, or a specific topic (EG: Anxiety, Communication Issues, Parenting, Grief and Loss, Etc.). Group therapy can lend itself well to changes in perspective, comfort people by allowing them to realize that they are not alone. Group therapy can be an excellent supplement to individual therapy.
